Comment spam is the bane of one's life. easyCMSlite, the free, easy CMS has always had great, simple filtering rules which, on the sites we actively manage, are great at catching spam and sending it to the spam folders.

The real issue here is that even though the comments are caught as spam correctly, you still need to go in and check them every now and again and delete these spam comments. If your sites are like some of the one's we manage (Find-Movie-Trailers.com and PHP-Web-Host.com), then you get hundreds of spam comments each week to filter out of the spam box.

In easyCMSlite version 1.0.10, we have incorporated google's reCaptcha. This means that any automated spam comment bots are stopped dead in their tracks!

Take a look at the demoserver to see how the reCaptcha comments work!

All you need to do is make sure you have version 1.0.10 and then log in to the admin panel and click on Advanced in the top links.

From side nav links under advanced, click on "Top Nav Order", or "Side Nav Order", depending on which you want to change. Then simply click on the up and down arrows next to the navigation link's name.
To change the order of the sub links (drop down links), do the same thing, except click on the name of the main nav link to see its sub menu items

We have in the pipelines an auction plugin for easyCMSlite, the free, easy content management system.

This is still just a foetus of an idea, so no real plans, save to say that the auction plugin will allow various categories (eg, PCs | Radio | Appliances, etc) as well as various "clients" and a commission per client (or globally). The clients are if the site owner is running auctions for various sellers. The site owner can then add a client and his / her products and a commission percentage.

It will integrate from the start with Netcash for credit cards (South Africa) and Paypal. Will add more credit card processing services as we learn about them (through the forums hopefully).

The implication here was that the video tutorials were no longer relevant, so we took them down.

We are now in the process of redoing the new ones and the first one is being uploaded as we speak: Installing easyCMSlite!

The video tutorials will mimic the online written ones, obviously just being the lazy persons version (shame on you, reading is good for you!)....

If you are using two computers to test your CMS based website using easycmslite.com, and on one computer you are viewing the site normally and on the other PC you are logged in as an adminstrator, you should be aware that if you change the template on your admin PC, you will not be able to simply refresh the page on the other PC to see the new template at work.

easyCMSlite.com, the free, easy content management system, uses session variables to hold the template information. This means that as a user of your site gets to your site, the template information is stored and used throughout their session (typically a session ends when they close the web browser). So, even if you change the template, a user will not be confused by seeing a different looking site as they click through from link to link.

They will see the new template if they close the browser and come back later.

Bear this in mind when you are testing over two PC's. You must close the web browser, then reopen it.
